Ubuntu wifi woes

Filed under: Uncategorized — zamhar @ 10:45 pm

just installed ubuntu on two of my machines. an old P4 DeskNote and my Eee PC.

so far so good. but one big gripe is that i can’t get wifi running on both of them.

the DeskNote is hooked up to ZDWLan USB dongle. while the Eee PC has built-in Atheros WiFi. i’ve run the Konsole and it detects the devices, it’s just that either there’s a problem with the drivers or something else.

for the Eee PC, i tried wicd but it’s still not detecting the wireless device. i’m currently downloading Easy Peasy, a flavour of Ubuntu that’s made for Eee PC.

if any of y’all have any ideas… hit up the comments.

Salaam.
